Ammerland-bred CHESSPIECE with speed to second win

Ammerland-bred CHESSPIECE recorded his second career win today at York, Great Britain. Trained by Simon and Ed Crisford, the three-year-old Nathaniel colt showed a great turn of foot and plenty of fighting spirit under Ryan Moore in a 2,400 meter handicap when he came charging from midfield and making up many lengths to win by a narrow length at the end. This was the second win for CHESSPIECE, who was an immediate winner on his debut at Newcastle at the end of last year.
