Brilliant MAX VEGA scores Gr.3 St. Simon Stakes at Newbury

LOPE DE VEGA's MAX VEGA scored a fine win for his sire with a brilliant performance in the GBP70,000 St. Simon Stakes at Newbury today. The five-year-old showed the best run of his career yet when he beat the heavy favourite Hamish in a thrilling finish to the wire in the 2,400 metres Gr.3 contest. Rossa Ryan was in the saddle for trainer Ralph Becket, who prepares MAX VEGA for The Pickford Hill Partnership.
