LOPE DE VEGA has a Breeders' Cup winner - NEWSPAPEROFRECORD

In what commentators called one of the most impressive performances in Breeders' Cup history, NEWSPAPEROFRECORD recorded a fantastic win in the $1 Mio. Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf with a breathtaking performance under Irad Ortiz Jr. The two-year-old filly by our sire LOPE DE VEGA entered the race with an unbeaten record, coming off a fresh win in the G2 Miss Grillo Stakes at Belmont Park in late September and claimed her moment in the spotlight in a fashion that left both commentators and hosts searching for superlatives. NEWSPAPEROFRECORD broke like a bolt and was sent to the lead by Ortiz, who settled the filly a length ahead of the others, carefully watching the field trailing them for the mile trip around the historical oval. Upon entering the home stretch, Ortiz gave the filly some reign which sent the LOPE DE VEGA-daughter flying away from the pack with breathtaking ease to record an 8-length-win for her owner syndicate Klaravich Stables and trainer Chad Brown, who had acquired NEWSPAPEROFRECORDS at last year's Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for his clients for 200,000 guineas.
NEWSPAPEROFRECORD is out of the G1-placed Holy Roman Emperor-mare SUNDAY TIMES who belongs to the top dam line of SIMPLY TIMES.
