Ammerland product DALIKA gritty in Gr.3 win at Kentucky Downs

Following her Gr.1 win in the Beverly D. Stakes, DALIKA was considered one of the favorites in the Gr.3 Ladies Turf Stakes at Kentucky Downs yesterday, and the six-year-old former Ammerland runner lived up to her billing. The daughter of our DRAWN TO RUN, trained by Albert Stall for Bel-Mar Equine, ran a very strong race under Brian Hernandez, Jr. and relegated the strong competition to the places with a neck advantage. With this success, which was rewarded with $334,180, DALIKA pushed her total earnings to nearly $1.3 million. With her Gr.1 score, the mare earned a berth in this year's Breeders' Cup. According to her owner, Paul Varga, it is not yet clear whether she will be nominated.
