HYPOTHETICAL relentless in Gr.1 Al Maktoum Challenge

What a great day for sire LOPE DE VEGA. Hours after Le Lude's Gr.3 win Down Under, five-year-old HYPOTHETICAL was on fire in the $450,000 Gr.1 Al Maktoum Challenge at Meydan, giving his sire the second group win of the day. Despite a less than perfect draw, jockey Mickael Barzalona managed to get HYPOTHETICAL to the lead, which the colt relentlessly defended to clock in a length ahead of his opponents after 2000 metres. The Irish-bred LOPE DE VEGA son races in the colours of Sheik Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and is prepared by Salem bin Ghadayer.
