LOPE DE VEGA-son storms home in G1 win Down Under

Six-year-old SANTA ANA LANE recorded a fantastic victory in the G1 Darley Goodwood at Morphettville today and in doing so he raked in the second win for his sire LOPE DE VEGA in Australia at the top performance level in horse racing. SANTA ANA LANE actually entered the race as 23.1:1 long shot and proved to be thoroughly underestimated following his third place in the G3 Mckay Stakes two weeks ago. Jockey Ben Melham took the Lope De Vega-son to a confident win by a length and a half over the 1200 m in a field of twenty contestants fighting for a 1 Mio AUS$ prize money.

LOPE DE VEGA's other G1 win Down Under came through VEGA MAGIC in this very same race - in 2017!
